Jewish Museum

On Saturday afternoon I met up with a friend at the Jewish Museum. It is about the history of Jews in Frankfurt. It was a great museum. In Frankfurt the Jews were made to live in a confined ghetto, which burned in 1711. When it was rebuilt, all the plans had to be submitted to the city council. Because of this they survived, and a model has been created for the museum.

The museum also had a lot of information about religious history. The Torah's they had were amazing. The amount of work it must have taken to hand write a Torah scroll I think is unimaginable. I took a photo of one of the beautifully decorated ones:

They also had history of the Jews during World War II. Including some information about Anne Frank, who was born in Frankfurt. One highlight was some postcards and photos of Frankfurt pre-war. The Zeil looked so nice: Now it looks so modern.
