School Open House

ie. Having to work on a Saturday. Oh, and work way too much the week before getting ready.

Last Saturday was our fall open house at school. Basically we open the school up to prospective parents who can come in and ask the teachers questions. I got to hang around in the library not answering many questions and sometimes babysitting kids who had just been left to read books (and make a mess of my library). There has been so much to do in the library this year and because I was rather behind all of last week was busy busy getting ready. Luckily I got a lot of help from some of the teachers at school. We managed to finish putting a lot of the new books into the system and get some things moved around that really needed it. To top it off, I labelled the rest of the shelves, and Courtney made some great displays for the windows.

After the open house I was looking at my blog, and the photos from last year. I was shocked, because I had forgotten how empty it was last year, and how much work we've done since! I put the photos together into a before and after. The photos from last weekend don't even do the library justice - there are new things everywhere, and it is looking superb!

Before and After. Before I had two shelves, each two shelves wide. I now have four shelves, each three shelves wide! Still lots of room for new books though :)
